Convert training to fun and improved hand cleanliness
Contestants will learn a new handwash protocol which promotes effective results - without singing "happy birthday" twice. This technique will be used during the scrub cycle of the SaniTwice method as the contest area does not have running water.
Food serving sites without water are growing as the public is so mobile and busy. They seek to snack or dine along their daily path, challenging mobile and catered foodservice operators. SaniTwice is an answer for those operators who seek good hand hygiene away from their brick and mortar operations.
Here is the process for you to follow with your team, either with water or without ... Contaminate contestant's hands with GlitterBug, simulating the presence of germs. Place them under a UV light to visualize the microbes. Apply a heavy dose of hand sanitizer, scrubbing hands as follows:
- The interlock
- Wipe hands vigorously with a paper towel, finishing the cleaning step. Return hands to the UV illuminator, marking spots missed onto the ProGrade scorecard.
- As the final step in the SaniTwice method, reapply hand sanitizer according to label instructions.
Winners will be entered in a daily drawing for a copy of Dr. Hal King's new food safety book on a Kindle Fire HD. The author will also be signing books at the Olympic venue: Food Safety Management: Implementing a Food Safety Program in a Food Retail Business. Come join the fun!
This event can be your starting line in kindling a culture of cleanliness.
