A 5 STEP program implemented in 3 STAGES The Hands-On® system delivers greater compliance in hand hygiene behavior in health care environments.  It was developed to establish and achieve standards of performance consistent with reducing the risk for Healthcare Associated Infections (HAI).  The system generates the behaviors needed, namely best practice hand hygiene interventions, that translate into better management control, better staff compliance and; most importantly, safer employees, safer environments and safer patients.

ATP swab testing of surfaces (including hands) provides immediate, visible and reliable feedback on the degree of organic matter contamination. 100 competitors, 20 trainers, 9 judges and 30+ cheerleaders descended on Turffontein Race course on June 24th for the Regional and Grand Finals of the Gauteng DOH Handwashing Championships.

All teams competing had won the right to attend the finals by winning at the District competitions held in early June.After 8 months of training and competing at their local facility and at the district level every team came ready to win one of the prizes in the R100000 finals sponsored by Kimberly Clark Professional.
The teams had already proven their ability to win; these were the best teams in the province and had proven they deserved their spot in the competitions.
