LEADERSHIP FORUM MISSION
We
agree that by thinking and working together we can replace today's
misinformation with integrated solutions. We can fill the gaps in the
science of frequent hand washing, sanitising and good gloving.
We look beyond our individual products to change food and health care
worker behaviours. Our metrics for success are increased hand hygiene,
lowered rates of illness transfer and minimal operator risk. Our
"applied science" approach has demonstrated that food and health care
workers will actually wash their hands, sanitise and change their
gloves... frequently!
The Handwashing Leadership
Forum’s role is to support operators and regulators already searching
for solutions to the ever-growing threat of foodborne and nosocomial
illness. Poor handwashing, poor sanitising plus poor gloving now are
the major risk factor in foodborne and nosocomial illness.
Reaching the many disciplines required to effectively manage the risk
of illness transfer requires an integrated approach. Owners and
executives need to understand the risks more clearly in order to build,
equip, hire, train and operate kitchens, food plants and health care
facilities with hand hygiene stations budgeted for success.
Consultant/designers, managers, workers and regulators must all embrace
the hand hygiene priority and operate from a common template.
The Handwashing Leadership Forum®
strives to provide the voice of applied science and leadership. It
seeks to continuously lead the advancement of hand hygiene related
safety.
